Can veneers get cavities?

In short, porcelain veneers themselves cannot get cavities. However, the teeth they adhere to are still subject to decay, which is why it is of the utmost importance that you maintain a solid oral hygiene routine following your procedure.

How long after veneers can I eat?

Directly after getting your temporary veneers, you should not eat or drink anything for at least two hours or until the anesthesia has completely worn off and you can move your facial muscles.

Can plaque grow on veneers?

While your veneer itself is resistant to decay, you can still get plaque buildup on the tooth and gums around your veneer.

How long does it take for veneers to heal?

Once you get your teeth after the veneers are removed, it will take up to two weeks for your mouth to heal. However, the overall time taken in the process also results from your oral hygiene.

How long do veneers last?

With care, your porcelain veneers should last you 15 years or longer. Even better, it's strong enough that you rarely have to worry about damage to it. One more thing to consider with porcelain veneers is your habits. If you have daily behaviors that stain your teeth, porcelain is highly stain-resistant.
