CEREC® stands for Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic for short is a new state-of-the-art method of reconstructing tooth restorations. CEREC® uses computer-assisted design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) to offer single-day restorations for patients.
Very few dental offices have this amazing and expensive piece of equipment, but Garden State Smiles actually has two of them! Our mission drives us to constantly invest in the newest, cutting edge technology to make every patient experience the best it can possibly be. The CEREC is a great example of our commitment. The CEREC® allows us to offer a "crown in a day" to most of our patients requiring that treatment in two of our convenient locations.
Here's how it works:
1. After the tooth is prepared for a crown, a digital image is captured by a state of the art 3D camera. No more need for messy impression material...no more need for a temporary crown...and no more need for a second delivery appointment. The crown will be completed the same day.
2. Using Cerec software, the crown is designed in every detail with precise accuracy and ensures a great fit.
3. While you wait, the all-ceramic restoration will be created in our onsite miling machine. Usually in just 15 minutes.
4. The finalized restoration is fit and delivered.
